A Week Crystallized: National Debate Championship
Oct 21st
Day 00: Destination Baguio
Of course, Arvin was late again. I told him that we would be meeting in 7-11 in Park & Ride, Lawton. Everybody was waiting for us! Ate Ciacia and Alvina were calling us in our mobile phones. Malapit na po, on the way to EspaƱa na po. When we arrived there, we rushed to the ticket booth to buy our tickets. Luckily, we are a minute away from the departure time.
Sleep. Eat. Talk. Text. These are the things I do when we are in the Bus.
We arrived in Baguio City at around 7:30 pm, that’s 6 hours or so of butt-aching transportation. We stayed at a so-so “inn”: Inn Rocio. I and Arvin were originally staying at the “Boys’ Room” but later transferred to the “Girls’ Room” due to better everything.
We, the whole UP Manila Contingent, went to SM Baguio to have our Dinner: Pizza! Yellow Cab! We also brought some groceries from SM Supermarket to help us survive the week. Wugh, would I be on a debate mode tomorrow? I wish.
A priori Perspective
Oct 20th
I would be leaving for Baguio City tomorrow for the 9th National Debating Championships. Ugh, I don’t know what to expect but I need to be in a debate mode on the 22nd–the first round of the tournament. We need to have much madness to achieve the divinest sense. Oh well, five days of clash of persuasive powers. I do good in persuading other people but I am weak in persuading myself. Issues, eat me.

Scholarly Shit
Mary Johnston Hospital on the Aspect of Change:
A Survey-Analysis of its Organizational Development Process
I was really not satisfied with our OrCom 101 paper although I feel that it would still merit a good rating. Haha. I, Rish and Ace are just slacking off during the paper-making itself–sound trip and laughing about non-sense things. I am quite happy because we were able to come up with a good analysis and conclusion. Oh well, we’ll just wait and see.
I Thought, But
When we passed this last requirement for the semester, I thought we should be happy, but our emotions are just so-so. Maybe because it is brought by the stressors that we have collected during the two hell weeks (the second one being worse). And add to the fact that I am having a hard time dealing with my emotions. Yes, it is hello issues again.
How would you deal with something that you hate but would never change?
Tolerate.
THE Tournament
I will be having my first national debate tournament–National Debate Championships in Philippine Military Academy, Baguio City (October 22-27). And the money I have spent or would be spending is really really big in amount (Yelp!)
Figures in Philippine Peso
Registration Fee: 2400.00
Hotel Accomodation: 1750.00
Transportation: 760.00 (Round Trip)
Pocket Money: 1000.00 (Poor me)
——————————————–
Total: 5910.00 (Almost 6 grand? WTF!)
I need to persuade myself that this would be a detox week for me. But, err, why can’t I? Kuya Aloi said to us that UP-Manila teams should be capped because it is simply prestigious. Haha, how ironic! :) Arvin and I would be matter-loading this weekend with some issues about everything.
Midtown Madness
There is a new world in Robinson’s Place Ermita! It is called Midtown. It is connected with the Pedro Gil Wing and Adriatico Wing(?) of the mall. Super large! Super elite-looking! And, whoa, Water Fountains and Classical Music! Makati much? Speaking of Makati, Glorietta Mall was bombed. Let’s pray for th eternal repose of the souls who have died and for the speedy recovery of those who have been hurt.
I don’t know, but I ended this semester without doing anything special to her.
Is carrying her bulky puncher as we stroll Midtown considered special?
