Michael Jackson is dead.
Benj, one of my blogging mentors, asked everyone in his Plurk Timeline: Is Michael Jackson the most popular/famous person to have died in our generation? Some cyber minutes have past and he, together with the ones who replied, offered other choices: John Paul II, Princess Diana Spencer, Frank Sinatra, Mother Teresa and Saddam Hussein. I haven’t replied to his Plurk but I already have a thought in mind—which I planned to be an introductory entry in my new blog.
I am supposed to answer this:
Ethos, Logos & Pathos
Jan 22nd
We just had our Impromptu speaking activity for our Communication III (Speech Communication) Class. We are asked to pick three words/concepts form three perky boxes of Madame Inton. We are given 5 minutes to integrate those words/concepts into a sensible speech. The three words/concepts that I have picked are Bill Gates, Shirley Temple and Rallies. I decided to talk about the Nature of University of the Philippines Students. Well, I would not be elaborating how Bill Gates, Shirley Temple and Rallies are connected to the students of Philippines’ premiere state university (I know, UP students are vain, but sometimes, they rather be humble. Haha). But anyway, I know it was benta. Here is how my Speech Evaluation Form looked like (The ones in purple font are stronger points; the ones in red are weak points). I got a score of 95 points (1.25), a score away from Uno! Oh well, I was in a debater mode during my impromptu speech so I was literally a Machine Gun of Words.
Communication Model
Nov 23rd
Making our own communication model is our first quiz in Communication III (Speech Communication). Madam Inton divided the class into four houses–I was sorted onto Ravenclaw (No criteria whatsoever btw). The first place is worth 50 points, second being 45, third being 40 and fourth being 35. Our house was the first to present. Luckily, we have presented it well although we had some last minute preparations.
