After some good telephone conversation, I coerced myself to sleep. I got my pillow, dressed my cold body with some Christmas-weather-proof blanket and started formulating my sweet dreams. Apparently, during my sleep’s Rapid Eye Movement stage, I can still hear the telephone conversation I just had before raping my sleeping bed. I thought it was a not-so-good dream so I decided to wake up and ponder in silence–hoping to spell a better sleeping trick. Well, I think I can’t and, voila, I decided to blog.

I just want to write about some things that happened recently–well, there are too many to mention but I’ll try my best to encapsulate them in an easy-to-swallow pill. Here it goes:

2010 Planner Woes

Sometime this December, I started pondering about what planner to buy or obtain. I got stuck with these choices:

Planners2

Ah, too many choices

My criteria for a planner: It should be minimalist; it should have a lot of notes/doodle section aside from the weekly/monthly planner section themselves; it should be something I can fall in love with (?) towards my way to obsessive compulsiveness. All of these were satisfied by (drum roll) Moleskine [Weekly Hardbound Diary 2010]. Unfortunately, this is the most expensive among my shortlist entries. PhP 1,499.00 to own something as legendary as this. Well, I have decided to buy one even though it would be a little late for 2010 Planning (1.5k by second week of January, oh no). On a different note, ready my 2009 Planner Review here. And thanks to Spot.ph for the Starbucks Planner photo.

Of Cropped Photos and Vanity

I am a bit pressured to do a year-ender blog entry as fabulous as my last year’s. Visiting this entry a year after gave me some goose bumbs–wow, I can do such heavy-labor entry. Well, my 2008 is all about photos and journal entries–that’s why it was easy for me to pull off such creation. Unfortunately, my journal this year has very few creative doodles–too few to put up an artsy-fartsy exhibit. Moreover, I got tired taking photos of different I-should-bring-a-camera-for-this-event happenings. My profile pictures in Facebook for this year are cropped from group photos because I got tired of taking pictures of myself. Well, you know it, I’m in the denouement of vanity. All of these things tell me I’m already old. My audacity barometer tells me I’m too old to be a pop star wannabee. Oh well, the existence of corporate world is near. This might be another affirmation if not a conclusion to all of these simple yet complex moments. Anyway, here is one of my most recent cropped photo for your private enjoyment: HAHA

Thesis what

I promised myself that my Holiday Vacation will be a productive one. But hey, I haven’t started to think about the things that I need to do this break. Yes, I haven’t even started thinking about them. Actually, they’re floating in my mind in bits and pieces waiting for me to arrange them in an orderly fashion. I think I’ll just eat them–I’m mad hungry like that. Thesis. I need to have a special focus on this scholarly endeavor. I think I already have a concrete path but I still haven’t tried walking on it. Good thing I already found the survey instruments I need for this study. I’m a geek and I’ll be in the process of actualizing my erudite alter ego.

Baby’s First Year

AlpsAguado dot com is turning one! Blog friends tell me that I should have a contest to celebrate my blog’s first year anniversary. Hmm, Alps [Aguado dot com] is thinking. Too bad, I feel sad that my blog would have an anticlimactic first year anniversary. Why? Because I have been a passive blogger near its first birthday. I think I shall Power Blog for a week! Oh no. Well, I shall remember the blog mantra a friend told me: Blog when you feel like it–it’s an online journal’s point anyway.

Oops, I think I just said too much. Too all my blog visitors, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

    Goodluck on your thesis!

It is really an imitation, Cleve. Haha. And I don’t think they have a planner version a la Moleskine. Oh, thanks, I need a lot of good luck. Haha. Happy holidays!

I haven’t seen the Novu/i Planner! I think I need to see it first before killing myself buying a Moleskine–it’s financial suicide for a broke person like me, ye know. Haha.

Merry Christmas Mita & Fia! aaand thanks for the greeting! Haha! ;)
