I am into punk covers lately. This era of mine started when I liked New Found Glory’s version of My Heart Will Go On (The movie Titanic’s OST). Here’s my playlist and I hope you will try to listen to some of the songs here, if not to all of them. Hehe.

- Walking on Sunshine – Ghoti Hook
- What a Wonderful World – Joey Ramone
- I want It That Way – New Found Glory
- My Heart Will Go On – New Found Glory
- That Thing You Do – New Found Glory
- I Don’t Want T to Miss a Thing – New Found Glory
- Every Breath You Take – Millencolin
- Hotel California – NOFX
- There She Goes – NOFX
- Summer of 69 – NOFX
- Turning Japanese – NOFX
- Lovesong – Jack Off Jill
- Leaving on a Jet Plane – MXPX
- Popeye The Sailor Man – MXPX
- Barbie Girl – MXPX
Barbie Girl cover is such a laughtrip! Anyway, on a side note, I am generally into covers these past few days. Aaand, I don’t know but I liked Boyce Avenue. Does that make me gay? Hehe. ∞

When we reached Ateneo de Davao University (ADDU) for the 10th NDC, we needed to register first at ADDU. The registration took a while. Because we were bored, we just took pictures. And because we were bored with-a-different-level-of-boredom, we just took pictures with-a-different-level-of-picture-taking. HAHA.
Things needed:
- At least one (vain) person.
- At least two cameras. The more, the better.
- Bleachers, or stairs, or any alternative.
Things to do:
- Set the cameras on timed-capture. 10 seconds is preferred.
- Place the cameras on different levels and at different angles on the bleachers or stairs.
- Press the cameras’ shutters simultaneously and go to the location-to-be-shot as quickly as possible. Panic if necessary.
See the resulting pictures!
Grammar suicide chronicles my daily encounters with everything grammatically suicidal. This is not meant to laugh onto Filipinos’ ingenuous English grammar usage but is, rather, meant to induce awareness about the common Pinoy-style deviations from the proper usage of the language. (Charing!)

Sometimes, to be defensive, you need to be redundant. Okay, okay, fine, the bulletin board is yours. Haha. A better version would be “This bulletin board is exclusive for DPSM’s use” or “This bulletin board is for DPSM’s use only”. The words “exclusive” and “only” coudln’t be used in a single sentence if it pertains exclusively to a single noun only. Woops, I think I am becoming defensive too. :p

Host school: Ateneo de Davao University, Davao City, Philippines
Stayed at: Sequoia Inn, Davao City
Date Arrived: October 19, 2008
Tournament Date: October 20-25, 2008
Date Departed: October 26, 2008
General remarks: The logistics and organization is not as ideal as the 9th NDC but the overall satisfaction is the best yet :)

I haven’t been updating this blog for a while. Reason? I am was super busy. The last 2 or 3 weeks of September were hell weeks for me. I had no sleep and I can’t sleep. The things-to-do list was unbelievably long. The last day of final exams which is also the last day of the semester was the 18th of September. Then, I went to Davao for the 10th National Debate Championships on the early 19th. I came back last 26th and I had to sleep up to the 27th. So now, this is my official first day of sem break. Fwew. So many backlog ideas to be blogged. So many comments to be answered.

Anyway, this would be my transition-entry. Haha. The picture above is my desktop during the hell weeks. Cramped huh? I don’t place anything on my desktop except the task bar (duh), sidebar and my dock. I only place urgent things on my desktop e.g. files to be printed, continued, read, edited or reviewed. They are usually few in number. But not during the hell weeks. I actually had to remove my sidebar just to have more space for urgent things. So someone can tell how busy I am by just looking at my desktop. :P
I and Noemi wanted to approach a professor and ask him/her to change a specific policy for a project.
aLps: Can you assert your virtu to Sir/Ma’am ****?
Noemi: No, I can’t assert mine. Can you?
aLps: I can’t! Let’s just adhere to the original policy then.

Days later, the professor changed some provisions of the policies satisfying our original proposition for revision.
Noemi: Alps! He/She changed the policy! And it is what we wanted!
aLps: Yeah! This, is called fortuna. :D

The UP Manila Debate Circle Contingent to the 1st Intramuros Intervarsities (Haggard kung haggard :|)
I have been absent in the blogosphere for the past few days. Reason? Debate. I was mentally, psychologically and mentally exhausted brought by three days of public speaking and argumentation. The tournament was the first Intramuros Intervarsities held in Mapua, PLM and Letran; It was attended by more or less 70 teams from more or less 20 institutions. Yeah, inaccurate statistics sucks. Anyway, the UP Manila contingent did well although none of the teams reached the grand finals (All of us broke [or had a breaking score at least], so that is, already, a reward). We haven’t shown our best yet (Due to the absence of other great(er) debaters from the contingent. Hehe.) I and Anzen (UPM-A) did well too, but we expected a higher breaking score. Huhu, but we shall not cry over spilled milk. We have seen this as a preparation for the 10th National Debate Championships anyway. Hehe.
