Making our own communication model is our first quiz in Communication III (Speech Communication). Madam Inton divided the class into four houses–I was sorted onto Ravenclaw (No criteria whatsoever btw). The first place is worth 50 points, second being 45, third being 40 and fourth being 35. Our house was the first to present. Luckily, we have presented it well although we had some last minute preparations.

When I was watching TV a while ago, I was surprised when I saw this Pinoy Big Brother commercial. I noticed that Will Devaughn’s jacket is similar to mine. The commercial clip featuring that specific moment with Will (wearing the jacket) only lasted about 2 seconds. So, I searched THE internet for some Will’s PBB screen shots (No, not what you’re thinking. I am after THE green jacket). And I have found one. And it’s small so I have to zoom it in.

Here’s my schedule for the second semester, SY 2007-2008 (Screen Shot from MS Word)

Comments

I got approved on all the subjects I have requested on the Online Enlistment except Comm 3! I wanted a Comm 3 on the 11:30 – 1:00 slot, Mondays and Thursdays. But unluckily, it wasn’t approved. But lucky me, I have two alternative time slots that, again, luckily, aren’t conflict with any of my approved subjects. They are 7am class (TF) and another 7am class (MTH). I chose the TF one since choosing MTh would make a break time from 8:30 to 1:00! Not so practical and wise a move! But a disadvantage would be haggard Tuesdays and Fridays! But hey, I don’t have any choice.

We had our Lunch at The Old Spaghetti House in Midtown, Robinson’s and our sort of sugar-filled snacks at Starbucks.

I forgot the name of what I have ordered. But it is carbonara-ish.

Ugh, I hate sugar. But sugar makes me (and everybody) happy anyway.

More pictures here.

The Mountain and The Squirrel
Ralph Waldo Emerson

The mountain and the squirrel
Had a quarrel,

And the former called the latter
“Little prig.”
Bun replied,
“You are doubtless very big;
But all sorts of things and weather
Must be taken in together
To make up a year
And a sphere.
And I think it no disgrace
To occupy my place.
If I’m not so large as you,
You are not so small as I,
And not half so spry:
I’ll not deny you make
A very pretty squirrel track.
Talents differ; all is well and wisely put;
If I cannot carry forests on my back,
Neither can you crack a nut.

What does Cicerone mean?

  • Cicerone is an old term for a guide, one who conducts visitors and sightseers to museums, galleries, etc., and explains matters of archaeological, antiquarian, historic or artistic interest. The word is presumably taken from Marcus Tullius Cicero, as a type of learning and eloquence.

In short, Cicerones are like tour guides. But hey, I am not interested on touring people on, erm, artistic-slash-historical places. Hoyeh, it could be an allegory for I, touring the readers on my, erm, history. But it is more of the reason that I idolize Cicero! Cicerones, took their profession’s name from the Great Roman orator, lawyer and philosopher Cicero. Cicerones need to be as eloquent as Cicero to be a good tour guide. (but most of them are not). Howell, this is a short information about him.
